Guide of FoneGeek iOS Backup & Restore

FoneGeek iOS Backup & Restore program allows you to back up iPhone/iPad/iPod touch data for free, and then export them to computer or selectively restore them to iOS device without affecting the other data.

Part 1: Back Up and Restore iOS Devices

Back Up iOS Devices for Free

With FoneGeek, you can back up the whole data or only back up the selected data on your iPhone to save the time. The backup files will not overwrite the local backups on your computer.

Firstly, download and run FoneGeek program on your PC.

Step 1. Choose ‘Backup & Restore’ option from the right panel and connect your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch to computer.

Step 2. Click on ‘Backup’ button when the device is detected.

Step 3. On this interface, FoneGeek will list all the types of data that it supports to back up, such as contacts, messages, notes, reminders, photos, videos, music, call history, etc. You can select all data or select specific data you need and click on ‘Backup’ to proceed.

FoneGeek will then show you all the data that you selected after the backup process.

Click on ‘View Backup History’ and the backup history you made with FoneGeek will be listed. Hit the ‘Next’ button to check the backup file in detail, and then choose any one you need to export them to PC.

Restore Backup to Computer/iPhone

Step 1. If you have backed up your iPhone with FoneGeek, you will view the tab of ‘View Backup History’. Click on it to check all the backup files.

Step 2. Choose one backup file based on your situation and click on ‘Next’ button to view the backup history.

FoneGeek will need several seconds to download the backup file so that you can preview the details of the backup file.  

Step 3. Then tap ‘Export to PC’ to save the selected files on your computer or tap ‘Restore to Device’ to transfer the selected files to your iOS or Android device.

Part 2: Selectively Restore from iCloud Backup to iOS Device

Roughly, it is not user friendly to restore from iCloud backup to your iPhone using the official procedures provided by Apple. Your iPhone has to be set as a new one and you are only allowed to restore the whole backup. There is one more and better choice for you to restore from iCloud backup now.

FoneGeek iOS Backup & Restore has provided the service to selectively restore iCloud backup to iOS device without resetting the device.

Step 1. On the interface that lists the option of ‘Backup' and ‘Restore’, connect the iOS device to computer and hit on ‘Restore’ to proceed.

Step 2. Choose ‘Restore from iCloud Backup’ mode and log into the iCloud account.

Step 3. All the backup files connected with this iCloud account will be listed. Choose one that you need and click on ‘Download’ to download the selected iCloud backup file.

Step 4. The iCloud backup data will then be organized in category. Pick the iCloud data you need and click on ‘Restore to Device’ to restore the selected files to your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch.

Part 3: Selectively Restore from iTunes Backup to iOS Device

Step 1. Choose ‘Restore’ option if you need to restore from iTunes backup.

Step 2. Select ‘Restore from iTunes Backup’ and FoneGeek will display all the iTunes backup files saved on your computer. Choose one iTunes backup and click the Next option.

Step 3. This iTunes backup file will be analyzed to display all the data saved in the backup file. After selecting the ones you want, tap on ‘Restore to Device’ to restore the iTunes backup to your iOS device.
